  • What is DocTalk and how will it help me?
    DocTalk uses telecommunications technology to provide convenient access to medical professionals who can address your questions regarding recent hospital visits, current diagnoses, medications and other medical questions in real time. Through HIPAA-compliant video consultations, you can discuss your concerns, seek clarification, and receive expert guidance from the comfort of your own home.
  • How can I use DocTalk to answer my questions about my recent hospital visits, diagnoses, and medications and talk to a real Physician?
    You can schedule a virtual consultation with one of our qualified physicians at a time that suits you using the link on our website. DocTalk uses Setmore to provide HIPAA protected services virtually. You can connect with us with any device equipped with a camera, microphone and browser! It's that easy!
  • How is DocTalk different?
    DocTalk aims to maximize the time you spend with your doctor--so you can discuss all you need to and get true insight into your health. Knowledge is power! We want to make sure you completely understand your health to help you reach all your health goals and better! We are not bound by any particular organization or insurer--this allows us to have a genuine unbiased discussion which we feel could best benefit you.
  • What questions can I ask DocTalk?
    We hope DocTalk will offer you excellent information and insight into a wide variety of health concerns and questions. Please refer to our services page to learn what we do best!
  • Are DocTalk Physicians my primary treating physicians?
    No. DocTalk aims to be a service which allows you to have the best knowledge about your own health to enable you to have the best discussion regarding your future health choices with your primary treating doctors. We are certain that this will be of great value to both you as well as your primary treating physicians.
  • Does DocTalk prescribe medication?
    No. DocTalk is an educational and informational service. We can suggest lab testing or medications that may be relevant to your specific situation however these suggestions need to be discussed with your primary physician. We aim to give you knowledge of what options may be available to help you have a more fruitful discussion with your primary doctors.
  • What if I have a medical emergency?
    DocTalk is not an emergency medical service or Urgent care. Our focus is education and preventive care for patients. If you have a medical emergency please call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency room/Urgent Care.
  • What can't DocTalk do?
    At DocTalk, we aim to give you the best education about your medical questions based on years of actual patient experience and actual expertise. At this time, as non surgical physicians, we are not able to provide very specific answers to technical surgical questions or extremely specific subspeciality questions. DocTalk presently only serves adult patients and does not provide information regarding pediatric care (Age <18) We aim to eventually have these services available--so stay tuned!
  • Where does DocTalk provide services?
    At this time DocTalk services are limited to the United States and specifically to residents of the state of New York. We anticipate availability in other states soon in the future.
  • How does payment for DocTalk appointments work?
    DocTalk has a very simple pricing model. We charge a fixed fee of $59 for a 15 minute appointment, $99 for a 30 minute appointment and $149 for a 45 minute appointment. You can schedule your appointment depending on the complexity of your questions.
  • Will my health insurance pay for DocTalk?
    No. DocTalk does not bill your health insurance and is strictly fee for service. We strongly believe this model is what allows us to focus most on the aspects of healthcare most relevant to patients namely TIME spent with a physician directly rather than being bound by insurance mandated guidelines.
  • What payment forms do you accept?
    We accept all major credit cards in our SetMore appointment program
  • What if I am unable to make my scheduled appointment?
    DocTalk scheduled appointments are non-refundable unless cancelled within 24 hours of booking the appointment. We request that you carefully select your appointment at the time of booking to avoid any inconvenience.
  • When do you charge my credit card/take payment?
    Payment for DocTalk services is completed in full at the time of booking your appointment. In case you need to cancel, we can provide a full refund for cancellation if the appointment is cancelled prior to 24 hours of your appointment. Appointments will be charged in full if not cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment time.
  • What if my physician needs to cancel my appointment?
    We apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused to you in this unlikely event. We will at your discretion offer you a full refund or a rescheduled appointment in this case.
  • Can I use my HSA/FSA card to pay for DocTalk?
    Yes. However, If you are using a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) payment card, please be aware that even if your payment goes through, there is a possibility that your payment could later be denied. In the event of this happening, you are responsible for ensuring that full payment is made by other means.
